If you are a young adult and you are overweight then you realize the pressure you receive from all of your peers about losing weight, or being fat. The one thing that you should realize is that whether you are 10 years old or 15 years old or 18 years old… is that weight loss is something that people of all ages have to be able to learn to deal with…and you need not be alone.
If you are a teenager you may feel as if you would only be able to lose weight if you had enough money to buy “something” you would be able to lose weight. NOT TRUE!!!! If you are reading this page, let us tell you right here and right now that if you want to lose weight, you do not need to have any money to purchase ANY weight loss gadget. The first thing you need to realize is that if you really want to lose weight you can, unless there is some medical problem that is affecting your metabolism. It is suggested that before you start your weight loss plans you talk to some responsible adult or even a doctor.
Once you realize that you want to become thinner you need to understand only one thing about weight loss, and that is about calories. How much a healthy person weighs is all about how many calories are eaten and about how many calories that are burned. Did you now that you burn calories by simply blinking your eyes? Did you realize that you burn calories even while you are sleeping? The human body is similar to that of the common motor engine because the harder you work an engine or your body, the more fuel that is going to be used. If a car has no fuel, the car does not move. If a body has no fuel (food) it too will not be able to move. The part that screws up so many young teenagers and adults is that they have no clue as to how many calories are being eaten and how many calories are being burned. Understanding the calorie is where weight loss has to begin.
You must understand that to lose one pound of fat that you need to burn 3,500 calories. That is what it takes to burn fat from your body. If you want to lose 100 pounds, that means you will need to burn off 350,000 calories. That is a really big number and that is why you also need to understand that weight loss is not going to happen over night. That is why you need to start paying attention to the foods that you eat. You need to understand that if you eat more calories than you burn, you will gain weight. You need to understand that if you eat less calories than you burn, you will lose weight. It is that simple!
We all love soda, but did you realize that soda is one of the worst things that you could drink? You may say that you love to drink the stuff and that is alright. The question should be not how much you want to drink soda, but how badly your motivation is to lose weight. Sure soda tastes great, but do you know how many calories in one eight ounce seving? If you did not know, there are 97 calories and one large Coke at McDonald’s contains 310 calories. Now lets just say you also have BigMac and fries. That adds another 1,040 calories to your body. So for one meal you have added 1,350 calories to your situation. If you did not know, that is alot of calories to eat for anyone. We are only talking about calories and for the purpose of this short essay, we will not even get into how salt and fat also is harmful to your weight loss attempts.
We want you to start educating yourself about what you are eating. Knowledge is power and if you found this website, you have the ability to gather so much more information than someone just a fews years ago. What you must also know is that weight loss can be free and you do not need to spend money to lose weight. As you search the web do not get sucked into the belief that some product is what you need. Do not get sucked into thinking you need anything other than knowlege and motivation to make weight loss a reality in your life. Just leave this page with the understanding that weight loss is all about understanding how calories interact with your body. Whether you are talking about how they enter, or how you burn them off. Just remember that if you ride a bike for a little over two hours, you might be able to burn off the calories from the BigMac meal we mentioned a few moments ago. Two hours!
